Dr Rachel Cusack

B.App.Chiro., B.App.Sc (Clinical)

Rachel graduated from RMIT Bundoora in 1996 receiving the award for excellence in Chiropractic Science. She went on to work with Dr Paul Kelly at Moonee Ponds Family Chiropractic Clinic for 3 years before taking a year off explore the world. Over the next few years she gained valuable experience and insight locuming for a variety of chiropractic practices in the U.K., Queensland and Victoria.

At the end of 2002 Rachel began her own adventure, In Harmony Chiropractic, initially working from home before relocating to Montmorency. Shortly afterwards her husband Travis joined the practice and the rest is history…here we are many years on and still going!

Rachel was initially drawn to chiropractic because of its unique philosophy, something she experienced personally after having begun chiropractic care as a teenager with daily headaches. Soon her whole family were under regular wellness care and she first handedly experienced the life changing effects of the adjustment.

Working with children and families had always been a clear life’s passion for Rachel, and so began her special interest in neurodevelopment and neuroplasticity. Over the years, Rachel has completed several postgraduate courses focused on the chiropractic care of children. Understanding the triad of environmental stressors we are all reacting and adapting to on a daily basis Rachel has also developed a keen curiosity in the emotional aspects of wellness, going on to study, experience and use N.E.T. as a useful tool in her technique kit. She uses gentle low force chiropractic techniques and is one of only a handful of chiropractors (and the only female) in Victoria who has achieved Advanced proficiency rating in Activator Methods. In 2017 Rachel completed a two-year diplomate in Chiropractic neurodevelopmental paediatrics with Dr Genevieve Keating.

Rachel believes that a healthy start is imperative for laying a strong foundation through which we can engage, be stimulated, grow and thrive reaching our full inborn unique potential with the help of a healthy nervous system. She considers herself caring, honest and supportive in helping her patients reach their own personal health goals through chiropractic care.

Rachel is a mother of two children, both of which were born at home, and she remains inspired, challenged and forever changed by her personal transition to motherhood. She has also been an avid tap dancer, teacher and professional performer, and these days is inspired daily by the rhythm and strive for harmony in her family and the families that she works with. For fun she enjoys a regular practice of yoga and meditation, spending time with her family, sharing ideas with friends and long walks on the beach.
